Finca la Familia is a 15-acre coffee farm growing the following varietals - pacamara, red bourbon, yellow bourbon, and cuscatleco. The majority of coffees on this farm are naturally processed, as El Salvador is known as "the land of naturals" in the coffee world. It is still a very small operation, with 3 full time employees who also live on the land.
Our partner, Amarella Imports, began operating the farm 3 years ago - the first couple years consisting of replanting trees and resoiling as the farm was not well-kept in the past. In 2023 they planted 3000 new coffee plants and plan for 8000 more next year, in hopes of creating a healthy, full coffee farm in the future, and ultimately create more income for the guys working at the farm and their families. They are currently paid 60% more than the average coffee farmer in El Salvador, and receive healthcare benefits and social security benefits.
