Staunton State Park – Just 45 minutes southwest of Denver near the town of Conifer, this state park offers miles of trails that wind through meadows, granite cliffs, and dense aspen groves. It’s a perfect spot for a day hike, trail run, or mountain bike ride surrounded by autumn colors.
Guanella Pass – A scenic byway climbing above Georgetown just off I-70, Guanella Pass provides stunning alpine views with bursts of aspens along the way. Hike up to the historic ski patrol hut or explore the tundra trails for a quieter, more adventurous way to experience fall.
Kebler Pass – Located outside of Crested Butte, this backroad drive takes you through one of the largest aspen groves in the world. The winding dirt road feels like a tunnel of gold at peak season, making it one of Colorado’s most breathtaking fall destinations.
Cottonwood Pass – West of Buena Vista, this high mountain pass (and one of the highest paved passes in the state) boasts sweeping views in every direction. The aspen-lined lower stretches give way to panoramic vistas of the Sawatch Range, offering a little bit of everything Colorado has to offer.
